God's Will or My Will Part One

Do you love your life more than God? In John 12:25 it says, "Those who love their life in this world will lose it. Those who care nothing for their life in this world will keep it for eternity." Are we willing to lay down everything to follow the Lord and His plan for our lives? Do we want the Lord's Will to be done, or just our own prayers to be answered? 

In this introductory BKC Discipleship class, God’s Will or My Will? Part 1, we will go into depth about what Jesus expects from us as His true disciples. It's easy for us to be confident in the Lord as long as He is doing what we want, but what about when everything in your life isn't going according to "plan"? Will we obey God willingly or grudgingly?

Some common temptations of the enemy to get out of the Will of God are being carried away by false prophecy and ear tickling sermons that cater to our fleshly desires. We must learn to crucify the flesh to truly follow God. Jesus will not share His secrets of the Kingdom unless we are willing to do this and obey Him at all costs. Obeying is not just hearing a message and going away thinking "that was a great message", but instead, hearing the Word of God and then acting upon what we heard. As James 1:22 says, "But don't just listen to God's Word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves." 

In 'God's Will or My Will? Part 1', we will learn what it truly means to become a disciple of Christ. We will shed light on the different parables that Jesus taught, and we will expose two common temptations of the enemy that keep us from the will of God.
