Can you remember what your pastor preached about last week? What about last month? Is there anything you’ve started doing recently based upon what your pastor is preaching? If you answered “no”, you are not alone. Unfortunately, a vast majority of the body of Christ doesn’t immediately take Scripture or their pastor’s message and apply it to their lives. We love listening, but forget doing. Doing requires real work, effort, and dedication.
Most of us do not know who and where God has called us to because we don’t take His Word or His messengers seriously. What He says through His Word and others isn’t just “a message”. They are instructions, a blueprint for action. James 1:22-24 says, "But be doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in the mirror, for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was." It is vital that we aren't deceiving ourselves, by thinking we are obeying God just because we hear the Pastor preach at church on Sunday. No, God requires us to actually walk out our faith in obedience to His Word, not just listen to another "message".
In this topic, "It's Just a Message", Paztuh Mike will go into depth about our responsibility as Christians to be doers of the Word, not just hearers. He will discuss the importance of us as Christians to act on the preaching we hear each Sunday and to apply it to our lives. Are we willing to be held accountable by our Pastors and elders when they preach and confront us with the Word of God? We need to learn how to surrender and obey God's Word. Otherwise we are hearing just "another message". This topic will bring strong conviction, and healthy repentance to "church message as usual".
